From 1% Chance to a Miracle: How God Wrote My Motherhood Story
From 1% Chance to a Miracle: My Unbelievable Journey to
Motherhood
“I will not die but live and will proclaim what the Lord has done.”
— Psalm 118:17 (NIV)
Yes, I will not die but live, and I will proclaim what the
Lord has done for me.
The doctors told me that even with IVF treatment, there was
only a 1% chance I would conceive—99% I would not. But my God
is good, and He performs wonders we cannot comprehend and miracles beyond counting.
So, what miracle did He do in my life? Continue reading...
💔 A Medical Verdict, A Faithful God
At one of the most renowned hospitals in Chennai,
after extensive testing for both me and my husband, a highly reputed
gynecologist gave us a heartbreaking diagnosis:
“Even if you undergo IVF treatment, there’s only a 1% chance
you will conceive. 99% you will not.”
But God had a different plan.
My husband and I continued to seek Him through prayer and
fasting. During this time, the Lord gave me a promise from His Word:
“I will bless you and will increase the number of your
descendants.”
— Genesis 26:24 (NIV)
🙏 Standing on God’s Promise
I held onto that promise every day in prayer. I believed with
all my heart that God hears and answers. Each day, my husband and I
knelt together, holding hands, crying in His presence. While others enjoyed
holidays and outings, we chose to fast and pray.
Though it was painful to face society, God gave us peace
in the storm and joy in His presence.
I often declared in faith:
“One day, our baby will crawl, run, and play in our house. It
will happen. 100%, God will bless us. It will come to pass in Jesus’ name.
Amen.”
💉 Treatment, Trials, and Tears
Eventually, we resumed treatment. But after two failed IUI
attempts, the doctor advised me to rest, saying my body was too weak.
We agreed to pause. A month later, I noticed a delay in my
monthly cycle. While preparing to restart treatment, I asked my doctor about
the next steps. She simply asked:
“Have you taken a pregnancy test?”
I hadn’t. So, I did.
👶 The Miracle Begins
God had remembered us. He saw our tears. He blessed us with the fruit of
the womb.
In May 2018, I found out I was pregnant. It was a
moment of indescribable gratitude and joy.
“All things work together for the good of those who love
God.”
— Romans 8:28
Indeed, they do.
During the fifth month of pregnancy, God revealed to
my heart:
It would be a baby boy, and his name should be Isaac Ebenezer—a child of laughter, and a reminder that “thus far the
Lord has helped us.”
👼 A Promise Fulfilled
On January 3rd, 2019, a Thursday at 4:00 PM, in Bangalore, I gave birth to our beautiful miracle baby.
The baby looked like a little apple! In the operation
theatre, the doctor smiled and said:
“Congratulations, Sumathi! Small Dinesh!” (Dinesh is my
husband’s name.)
I was speechless—tears flowing—as I reflected on the grace
and mercy of my loving God.
🙌 A Living Testimony of Grace
“He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that
cannot be counted.”
— Job 5:9
Our son, Isaac Ebenezer, is a living testimony
of God's faithfulness.
This miracle didn’t happen because I was perfect or strong in
faith. It happened because of God’s Immeasurable Grace and His Unending
Mercies through Jesus Christ.
I know I am not worthy—but He is.
✨ Conclusion: When God Writes Your Story
From being told I had a 1% chance of conceiving to
holding my son in my arms—this journey is a testimony of God's power.
To every woman waiting for her miracle: Don't lose heart.
When the world says it’s over, God is just getting started.
Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep standing on His promises.
My story is not about me—it’s about a God who still
performs miracles and makes the impossible, possible.
All glory and honor to Jesus Christ, the Author of
Life and Giver of Hope.
