⭐ Two Superheroes of Faith: One from the Bible, One from Real Life
πΌ A Warm Welcome
Hello
dear readers,
Warm greetings to
you! I hope this message finds you healthy and in good spirits.
Today, I
want to talk about something very close to my heart—Faith. It's a small word
with profound depth. At times, it's incredibly beautiful. Other times, it’s
incredibly difficult. Yet, faith is something we all need, especially during
life’s most uncertain seasons.
In this
blog, I’ll be sharing about two superheroes of faith:
- One from the Bible
- One from my own life
Let’s dive in!
“Faith is
confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
— Hebrews 11:1
Faith is
more than belief. It is trust—a deep assurance that even when we can’t
see the full picture, God is still in control.
π‘ How Much Faith Do We Need?
“If you
have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from
here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
— Matthew 17:20
God doesn't
expect us to have mountain-sized faith. Even the smallest seed of genuine faith
can move mountains.
π§ How Do We Build Faith?
“Faith
comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
— Romans 10:17
The more we
listen to and meditate on God's Word, the more our faith grows.
π Superhero of Faith #1: Abraham – The
Father of Faith
You probably
guessed who our first superhero is—Abraham, the father of many nations and the
father of faith.
So, why is
he called the Father of Faith? Let’s take a look at three key moments in
his life:
1.
Obedience Without Knowing the Outcome
When God
told Abraham to leave his homeland, he obeyed immediately—even though he had no
idea where he was going.
He didn’t
demand a roadmap; he simply trusted God.
His wife
Sarah followed him in this journey. A faithful couple walking in trust and
obedience.
π‘ How obedient are we, as families, to
God’s voice—even when we don’t have all the answers?
2. Hope
Against All Odds
God promised
Abraham descendants as numerous as the stars, but he had no children at the
time.
Still, he believed.
Days turned into decades. Abraham and Sarah grew old—very old. Yet, they kept
believing and hoping. And God, in His perfect timing, gave them Isaac.
π‘ Are we willing to wait on God’s
promises with hope? Even when time seems to be running out?
3. Faith
that Withstood the Ultimate Test
God asked
Abraham to sacrifice Isaac. Can you imagine the pain in his heart?
Yet, Abraham obeyed—believing that God could raise Isaac from the dead.
Isaac, too, followed in obedience.
A family
that trusted God completely.
π‘ Do we, as families, live in such
obedience and surrender?
π Abraham’s Legacy of Faith
He believed God.
He obeyed God.
He waited on God.
He hoped in God’s promises.
And he
led his family to do the same. That is true faith.
π¦Έ♂️ Superhero of Faith #2: Mr. K.
Durairaj – My Father
Now for my
second superhero. A personal hero.
My father, Mr. K. Durairaj.
He was an
electrician who came to Christ from a Hindu background. After accepting Jesus
as his Savior, his life began to change—slowly but beautifully.
Though he
didn’t have a permanent job, and we often faced financial hardships, his faith
never wavered.
π¬ A Simple Answer, A Deep Trust
I remember
my mother would often worry about our future, especially as she looked at her
two daughters and wondered how we’d get by.
But my
father would always say:
“Don’t
worry, Chandra. God will provide. He feeds the birds and clothes the grass. He
will surely take care of us too.”
That simple
yet powerful faith gave my mother comfort—and taught me so much.
π A Christmas to Remember
One
Christmas season, my father didn’t get any work. My mother was anxious about
not being able to buy us clothes or prepare a festive meal.
But instead
of worrying, they prayed together with faith.
The very
next day, someone came to our home with an electrical job for my father. He
completed the work and received generous pay—enough for us to celebrate
Christmas joyfully.
That moment
is etched in my memory. It taught me that faith moves the hand of God.
π A Father Who Taught Me Faith
One of my
most cherished memories is riding on a bicycle with my father as we travelled
to church. He would tell me Bible stories, and I would listen eagerly. Those
moments planted seeds of faith in me.
Thanks to my
father’s example, I now long to have that same kind of deep, unshakable trust
in God.
I truly
thank God for my father.
π A Question for Reflection
In today’s
world, how many fathers are teaching their children to walk in faith?
How many parents are taking time to share Bible stories and truths with the
next generation?
Let’s pause and think:
Are we living a faith that speaks louder than words?
Are we passing on that faith to our families?
π Final Thoughts
Faith isn’t
about knowing everything—it’s about trusting the One who does.
Whether
you’re inspired by Abraham’s epic trust in God or by a humble father who
believed in divine provision, remember this:
Even
mustard-seed faith can move mountains.
So today,
let’s build our faith, live it out boldly, and pass it on with love.
Thank you
for reading! May your faith grow stronger each day.
“Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
— Hebrews 11:1
