Tomorrow Is Not Promised — Read This Carefully

Wait Upon the Lord and Renew Your Strength Daily

Start Your Day with God’s Presence

Introduction

Every new day is a gift from God. Yet many times, we begin our mornings without realizing the importance of how we start our day. Some begin with mobile phones, social media, newspapers, worries, stress, or endless thoughts about responsibilities. But have we ever paused and reflected on what truly matters the most?

The way we begin our morning shapes the rest of our day. Our thoughts, words, priorities, and focus determine our peace, strength, and direction. This reflection is a reminder to examine our priorities and to place God first above everything else.

Let us meditate on this together today.

How are we starting our day?

Let us reflect on ourselves for a moment.

Do we open our eyes and immediately start scrolling through our mobile phones while still lying in bed?
Do we begin our day with newspapers?
Or do we start it with a cup of coffee?

What fills our minds when we wake up?
Do we rise with yesterday’s worries and tiredness?
Or with fear about tomorrow?
Or with today’s to-do list?

What is our purpose for today?
What are we struggling and striving for?

Our mindset in the morning often decides the rest of our day.

How do our words begin each morning?
What do we confess as soon as we wake up?

Our words shape our day.
Our priorities shape our life.

So, what is my priority?
How am I starting my day?

Let us meditate on this today.

My first confession every day is:

“This is the day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Yes, today is a precious gift from God.
Thank Him for enabling us to see this new day. Remember, many who slept last night did not open their eyes this morning.

I want to share a real incident.

A middle-aged man left his family in Chennai and worked in Dubai, UAE. He was an electrician working at a construction site. He had two daughters — the elder daughter was married, and the younger daughter was ready for marriage. His wife lovingly took care of the family.

He was a healthy man. The previous night, he spoke with his wife and daughters, had dinner, spent some joyful time with his friends eating fruits, and then went to sleep.

The next morning, his family in Chennai received a phone call from Dubai. His daughter answered the call. It was not her father. The person on the other end conveyed the heartbreaking news that her father was no more.

She screamed and cried. It was unbelievable.

She informed her mother, and the entire family was shattered.

That family is my family.
That man was my father.

Yes, there was no hope. He suffered a heart attack in his sleep. He never saw the next morning.

Today, if we are alive, it is purely by God’s grace. God has been so gracious to us that we are able to see a new day. Yet many times we take life for granted.

Be cautious. This is a warning.

Never say, “I am too busy.”
Never say, “I have no time to pray or read the Bible.”
Never postpone God.
There is no excuse before God.

Mobile phones, social media, and newspapers cannot give us life, nor can they save us. Only Lord Jesus gives life.

So what should we do?

Set your priority.
That priority is your life.

Thirst for God’s presence.
Wait upon the Lord.

If I Wait Upon the Lord, What Will I Gain?

“Those who wait for Me shall not be put to shame.” — Isaiah 49:23

“But those who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength.” — Isaiah 40:31

God promises that we will not be put to shame.

Think about how many times and in how many places we have experienced shame, disappointment, and failure. But when we wait upon the Lord and make Jesus the highest priority in our lives, He gives us courage to face every circumstance and situation.

If we truly wait upon God, He will never put us to shame.

Sometimes we feel we have no strength left to face life.
We may not even understand what is happening around us.

No strength to fight.
No strength to run.
No strength to walk.
Maybe not even strength to crawl.

We become weary, stressed, and tired.

What should we do then?

Rush to Jesus.

Every minute we delay, our soul becomes more weary.

Stop everything.
Change your priority.
Wait upon God.

He renews our strength.

When He renews us, the way we see life changes. We no longer fight alone — He fights for us.

We remain still in His presence.

Reflection

Today, let us pause and reflect:

  • What is the first thing I seek every morning?
  • Is my priority God or the distractions of this world?
  • Am I spending time in God’s presence daily?
  • Am I carrying my burdens alone instead of surrendering them to Jesus?

Life is uncertain. Tomorrow is never guaranteed. But when we place God first and wait upon Him, He strengthens us, guides us, and gives us peace beyond understanding.

Let us choose today to begin every morning with prayer, thanksgiving, and the Word of God.

Thank You

Thank you for taking the time to read this reflection. May the Lord strengthen your heart, renew your spirit, and fill your life with His peace and presence each day.

May God bless you abundantly.
