My 2024: The Year of Trials, Tears, and Transformation - PART 2
Struggles and Challenges

The Pain That Consumed My Life
Every month, I used to leave my
house only for hospital reviews. My life revolved around pain, sleepless
nights, and a sense of isolation. One day, my husband, with tears in his eyes,
asked, “Will it ever become permanent that you can’t stand straight? I always
hear you talk about your pain, and it hurts me deeply to see you suffer. Oh,
what kind of life is this, filled with so much suffering?” His words reflected
my own despair and fear.
Isolation and Failed Attempts
to Find Joy
My friends encouraged me to go
out, suggesting activities like shopping, visiting malls, or reconnecting with
others to distract myself. I tried, but my efforts only deepened my depression.
Phone calls often went unanswered, and those who picked up hurried through
conversations, leaving me feeling more rejected. Outings were equally disheartening people, stared at my appearance, made insensitive comments about
my health, and drained me physically. Their words broke my heart, and I felt
more lost than ever.
The Impact of Medications on
My Body and Mind
Daily doses of 12 to 15 tablets
left me dizzy, nauseous, and battling gastritis. Each morning, I woke up
disoriented, wondering if I was in the cancer institute, a TB hospital, or my
mother’s house. When I realized I was home in Bangalore with my husband and
son, relief was fleeting. I even feared stretching out my left hand in sleep,
haunted by memories of endless blood tests. Life felt unbearable, and I
questioned how much more I could endure.
A Life-Changing Turning Point
Choosing Faith Over Despair
Amidst the darkness, a light
began to shine. We turned to Jesus and found solace in Him. I started speaking
words of life and hope instead of despair, praying more fervently, and seeking
His presence. Slowly but surely, things began to change.
Speaking Words of Life and
Hope
Each day, as I got out of bed, I
declared:
- “This is the day that the Lord has made; I will
rejoice and be glad in it.”
- “The Lord is my strength.”
- “Lord, Your grace is sufficient for me.”
These affirmations strengthened
me emotionally and spiritually, marking the beginning of my healing journey.
The Support That Strengthened
Me
The Unwavering Strength of My Husband
My husband stood by me as my
physical and emotional support. He never wavered, offering me strength and love
when I needed it most.
A Mother’s Love and Dedication
My mother became my rock, helping me cook for myself and my family as I regained strength. Her love and encouragement carried me through some of my toughest days.
Friends Who Became a Blessing
Shelton and Gracy, dear friends,
supported me with healthy breakfasts, soups, salads, and snacks, contributing
to my recovery. Their kindness and care reminded me that I wasn’t alone in my
battle.
Glimpses of Sunshine Amidst
Darkness
Rebuilding My Inner Strength
Amidst the pain, I felt a glimmer
of hope. My inner self grew stronger as I repeated my confessions of faith
daily. Slowly, I began to heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Finding Joy in Simple Moments
One of my happiest moments was
holding my son, Isaac, on my lap again. It felt like a miracle, a precious gift
from God.
Restoring My Faith and Making
New Connections
I began attending Sunday church services
and prayer fellowship meetings, where I met new friends and found renewed
faith. These gatherings uplifted me, reminding me of God’s grace and mercy.
A Testament of Miraculous
Healing
Embracing My Identity as a
Survivor
Today, I proudly introduce myself
as a cancer survivor and a testimony to God’s miraculous healing. Everything
that happened—and continues to happen—is for His glory.
Transforming Mourning Into Dancing
God turned my mourning into
dancing. He restored my strength, my family, and my joy. His goodness and
wonders have left me in awe, and I am forever grateful.
Celebrating New Beginnings as a Family
By God’s grace, we overcame what
felt like an impossible year. We celebrated Christmas 2024, New Year 2025, and
Isaac’s sixth birthday on January 3, 2025, as a family—a moment we had longed
for during our darkest days.
Conclusion
The journey through 2024 was one
of immense pain, challenges, and faith. What seemed like an insurmountable year
became a testimony of God’s goodness and healing. With His strength, I stood
again, walked again, and lived again. Today, I sing praises to Him for
restoring my life, my family, and my faith.
“I will sing praises to Him as
long as I have breath.”
“These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” I Peter 1:7
