  Introduction: A Year That Began with Pain When the world erupted in joy to welcome 2024, I found myself in a very different place—admitted to the Government Hospital of Thoracic Medicine, commonly known as the Tambaram TB Sanatorium. I had been diagnosed with abdominal tuberculosis, a possible side effect of my cancer treatment. Abdominal TB is a painful condition affecting the stomach, intestines, liver, and spleen. My body was ravaged by pain and weakness, and the year began with struggles I could never have imagined.
