The In-Depth Guide To Wait
Explore the Blessings of Waiting: A Journey of Patience and Courage
Greetings
Hello, I am Sumathi Dinesh. Warm Greetings to you all in the wonderful
name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I hope that by the Grace of God, everyone
is doing well.
In today's world, the word "WAIT" seems to
echo everywhere we go. Whether it's at the grocery store or in life's most
personal moments, we are constantly told to "Please Wait."
My Personal Experience of Waiting
In my own life, I faced a long wait before receiving a
much-awaited blessing—my son, ISAAC EBENEZER. He was a precious gift from God
after 13 years of marriage and three painful miscarriages. The wait was
long and difficult. Indeed, waiting is challenging for everyone, regardless of
the reason. In this post, let’s take a moment to discuss the concept of “WAIT.”
What Does It Mean to Wait?
The word "WAIT" means to allow time to pass, often
while staying in one place, until someone arrives, something happens, or an
opportunity arises to take action. Here are some examples of common situations
where we hear this phrase:
- "Please
wait in line for your tickets."
- "The
bus is on its way, could you wait a little longer?"
- "Your
order is being prepared; please wait for a few more minutes."
- "Please
wait while your request is being verified."
- "Please
wait for another 5 minutes."
- "Wait
here for me – I'll be back in a minute."
- "Wait until tomorrow morning."
We are often asked to wait in various aspects of life.
Students wait for their exam results. Graduates wait for the right job
opportunities. Some wait for the right life partner, while others wait
for family blessings. Some wait for their broken family situation to
improve, while others may experience multiple visits to the doctor waiting
for healing.
The Struggles We Face During Waiting
In one way or another, everyone is waiting for
something.
1. We grow
tired of waiting.
2. Waiting can feel
like a heavy burden.
3. Waiting can melt
our hearts.
4. Waiting can make
us grumble, murmur, and question God.
5. Waiting can lead
to deep depression.
6. Waiting might
cause us to feel discouraged and frustrated.
How to Wait?
1. Wait Patiently
"I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to
me and heard my cry." (Psalm 40:1)
The Bible says that God responds to our patience. Even when it
seems like nothing is happening, God hears our prayers and cries during the waiting
period.
2. Wait with Strength and Courage
"Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart
take courage; wait for the LORD!" (Psalm 27:14)
The Bible tells us to wait on the Lord with courage. We
must be strong during this waiting period. This verse also reminds us
that waiting is an opportunity to grow stronger and trust more deeply in
God's plan.
What Happens When We Wait?
We Are Renewed Through Waiting
"But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be
weary; they shall walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31)
This powerful verse promises that waiting on the Lord
renews our strength. God uses the waiting period to prepare us for
greater blessings and achievements.
There is a Time for Everything
The well-known passage from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 teaches us that
there is a time for everything under heaven:
1. There is
a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2. A time to
be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3. A time to
kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
4. A time to
weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5. A time to
scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to
refrain from embracing,
6. A time to
search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7. A time to
tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8. A time to
love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
Wait for the Salvation of the Lord
"It is good that one should wait quietly for the
salvation of the LORD." (Lamentations 3:26)
This verse assures us that waiting is a valuable
experience. God’s goodness is poured out on those who patiently seek Him, and waiting
ultimately leads to greater blessings.
Salvation is God’s grace. It is the gift of freedom from our
sins that Jesus made possible by taking the punishment for our sins on the
cross. Let’s wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Amen!
Conclusion: The Blessings of Trusting God’s Timing
Waiting is undoubtedly one of the most challenging experiences in life.
It tests our patience, strengthens our faith, and sometimes leaves us feeling broken.
However, as believers, we know that waiting on God is never wasted. It offers valuable lessons and prepares us for the greater blessings He has in store.
By trusting in God’s perfect timing, we grow stronger, develop deeper faith, and draw closer to Him.
