Is Hi! How are you Killing Your Conversations?

Overcoming Life's Struggles Through Faith

Introduction: A Message of Hope

Hi, My Dear Friends! I am your Sumathi Dinesh, and I am here to encourage you by sharing the lessons I’ve learned through the struggles I’ve faced in my life.

I want to share how we can overcome difficulties in our lives. The answer lies in holding onto the Word of God and standing firm on His Promises.

In this post, I want to discuss a few Q&A.

Let’s Begin.

Common Questions We Ask Each Other

When we inquire about someone's well-being, we often use a variety of questions. Here are a few examples:

1.   How are you?

2.  How have you been?

3.  Are you doing, okay?

4.  What’s new with you?

5.  Is everything alright?

6.  How’s everything going?

7.  How’s your family?

8.  Have you been well?

9.  What have you been up to?

10.                Can I check in on you?

These questions reflect care and concern. They’re polite and appropriate for both casual and formal conversations.

Facing Life's Toughest Questions

At one point, answering these questions was incredibly difficult for me. When everyone started asking me how I was, it became tough to respond. That was because I didn’t even know the answers myself. I didn’t understand what was happening to me or inside me.

My Diagnosis: The Turning Point

“Oh! What happened to you, Sumathi?”

Well, Sumathi was diagnosed with BLOOD CANCER.

My WhatsApp was flooded with these questions, and I didn’t know how to answer.

It was a very distressing situation. I eventually uninstalled WhatsApp from my phone and felt bad for not being able to reply to the friends who reached out with love and concern. After a while, I even turned off my phone.

A Breakthrough by God's Grace

But, by the Grace of God, He brought me through that struggle, and now I can boldly answer:

“I AM GOOD BY THE GRACE OF GOD.”

Questioning God During Difficult Times

When my life became harder, I questioned in my heart: “Why, God?” “Why only me, God?” “What have I done?” Yet, the Bible reassured me that trials are meant to refine and strengthen my faith. These challenges, though difficult, were an invitation to trust in God’s greater plan, even when the reasons weren’t clear. God encouraged me to hold on to Him through these times of testing.

The Purpose of Trials: A Biblical Perspective

John9:2-3
2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”

This BLOOD CANCER was diagnosed so that the works of God might be displayed in me.

John11:1,3-4
1 Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.
3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.”
4 When He heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”

My illness, too, is for God’s glory, so that His Son may be glorified through it.

The Importance of Asking Questions

Asking questions improves our knowledge. It’s how human beings naturally learn. It helps us understand what we’re facing and allows us to reflect. Asking questions makes us better leaders and forces us to think critically.

A Mother's Experience: My Son's Curiosity

We all encourage our children to ask questions, don't we? My son, Isaac Ebenezer (5 years old), asks me many questions every day. That's good thing! He asks many questions, and I answer them patiently. Sometimes, he repeats the same questions until he gets a response. There are some questions I don’t know how to answer, but he keeps asking until he gets an answer. I often think about how I can answer him and pray to God for wisdom.

God Has the Answers

God has answers to all questions. Only He can provide the answers for every situation. In fact, He Himself is the answer.

Yes! Jesus is the answer. Amen!

God’s Question to Us: Where Are You?

God, too, has a question for us:
“Where are you?” (Genesis 3:8-9)
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

This is the first recorded question by God in the Bible. On the surface level, God is calling out to Adam, asking where he is. Of course, God already knew where Adam was, but He still asked the question. Why? Because God wanted Adam to acknowledge where he was and why he was there. Adam was hiding because he had disobeyed and fallen into sin.

A Deeper Question for All Humanity

On a deeper level, this is a question God has asked humanity throughout the ages. Man continues to run and hide from God, but God continually seeks the lost. How would you respond if God asked you, “Where are you?”

Are we hiding from God, or are we walking in His light? Are we moving away from God by our actions? Do we realize that God is always seeking us to bring us back to Him? Come back. He loves you so much.

Think about it!

Thoughts to Chew On:

  • Care for Others
  • Boldly Declare God's Grace
  • Trials and Illness as Opportunities for God's Glory

  • God is Seeking You

Let’s Exercise the Word of God Every Day!
