What is love? How can we feel it? What does it look like? What is the meaning of love? Love is more than just a strong feeling of affection towards a person or thing. In our lives, we all have a deep desire to be loved.

The Bible beautifully describes love:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

Isn’t that a beautiful definition of true love? Have you ever experienced true love from someone? And how about your love towards others? We need to think about this, don’t we? As humans, our love can be affected by circumstances—it’s really difficult to find true, unwavering love from another person.

Where Can I Find True Love? So, where can we find true love? How can we discover it?

When my son, Isaac Ebenezer, was 4 years old, he used to sing a song that I loved to hear. It went like this:

That’s the truth—God’s love is so wonderful, and He loves us unconditionally.

The Unfathomable Love of God

God loves us so deeply and cares for us beyond what we can comprehend. His love is wonderful, faithful, unfailing, immeasurable, abundant, and overflowing. We must experience His love and be rooted and established in it, so we can understand how wide, long, high, and deep it truly is!

Unfailing Love

God’s love is unfailing. He guides His people with steadfast love that never fails. While human love may falter, God’s love remains constant and dependable. We can trust in His unfailing love, knowing that He will always be with us, deliver us, and save us.

Abounding Love

Yes! God’s love is abounding—it is plentiful and overflowing. God’s love is generous and abundant, not because we deserve it, but because He is rich in love. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Great Love

God’s love is great. He forgives our sins in accordance with His great love and shows us the wonders of it. His love is steadfast and everlasting, never being taken away from us. Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassion never fails.

Loving God in Return

God loves us so much that, when someone loves us more than we deserve, our hearts are filled with gratitude and a desire to love them back. God’s love is unconditional and immeasurable, and we are loved beyond measure.

Can we love God in return? How can we show our love for Him?

Yes, we can show our love for the Lord by following His commandments. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” Love one another as God loves us. We must love our neighbours and even our enemies, praying for them as God expects of us.

Living Out Love

Our love must be sincere. Hate what is evil and cling to what is good. Speak the truth in love, do everything in love, serve one another humbly in love, and walk in the way of love.

If we keep God’s commands, we will remain in His love. God desires a relationship with us, and if we love Him by keeping His commandments, He will show His love to a thousand generations. God works all things for the good of those who love Him, and whatever happens will be for the good of those who love the Lord.

God’s love is wonderful, faithful, unfailing, immeasurable, abundant, and great, and we are loved beyond measure. Yes! God loves you.

Love your God by keeping His commandments and remain in His love.

If we keep God’s commands, we will remain in His love. God desires a relationship with us, and if we love Him by keeping His commandments, He will show His love to a thousand generations. God works all things for the good of those who love Him, and whatever happens will be for the good of those who love the Lord.
